Family Initiatives collaborates with all family members to strengthen, preserve and reunify. By engaging and teaching new skills, families are empowered to improve their own lives.
Family Initiatives is a program that provides in-home support to help preserve or reunify families. Families work collaboratively with our workers, called Family Specialists, to help families reach their goals.
Learning and or Behavioral Difficulties
The Learning Difficulties / Disability Stream is provided through our EIPP Program to work alongside parents/carers who have children 0-18 years old who are experiencing learning difficulties / disabilities. Its main goal is to improve their life opportunities and overall well-being. Please note that JFDS is both an independent non government organisation (NGO) and a not for profit organisation.

CARING FOR KIDS with ADHD WORKSHOP
This workshop is an intensive 7 week program for Mums, Dads and Carers who are interested in learning new skills and strategies whilst caring for kids with ADHD and associated behaviours.
Comprehensive Sessions include ‘Reward Systems’, ‘Parental Burnout’, ‘Grief & Loss Issues’, ‘Liaising with your child’s School’ and ‘Time Out’.
During the group sessions parents learn to normalise behaviours, brainstorm problems, share ideas and develop a planned approach to parenting
